Another Mother’s Day Card

Last week, I made a card in my video using Distress Inks as water colors. The panel used the latest color addition to the Distress line – Saltwater Taffy. It is the prettiest peach and worked beautifully in the creation. When I made the first card, there was a little bit of the water colored panel left over and that’s what I used for the detail of this card. I took a scrap and turned it into a treasure!

I knew that I wanted to add some more peach to the card so I pulled out the April 2021 Large Die of the Month kit from Spellbinders. The dies are actually sized for a slimline card, but I knew they would work for an A2 card as well. The peach color of the Saltwater Taffy is so fresh and unique, and I didn’t have any cardstock to match it closely enough. So, instead I swiped the ink pad on some cardstock and created my on perfectly matched colored cardstock. I then cut the lacy layer of the card with the Spellbinders die from that inked up paper. Perfection!

I used some gold foil paper to die cut the word MOM and the small wavy border as well. Then I added a few gold baubles to finish the card off.

Have you ever used scraps to create a treasure? Let me know in the comments below. I’d love to know what you created. Until next time…Enjoy!
