Mediterranean Beach Scene Card for an IG Hop

Hey there everyone! I am excited to be participating in the 1 Year Anniversary Hop for my friend Anne-Laure, known as @Art_of_Albara on Instagram. There are so many of us in this hop which means that a lot of creativity and inspiration will be shared. This is going to be fun!

Anne asked us to create cards with a scene in them. If you follow her, you know that she loves a good scene! So for my card, I created a Mediterranean beach scene. We haven’t been able to travel for some time now and I am really missing the ability to travel. The beach is my serenity place – the colors, the sounds, the peace. So naturally, I made a card that could take me to the beach in my mind.

To create this scene, I used 2 stamp sets from Hero Arts

  • Color Layering Village stamp set
  • Beach Heroscape stamp set and dies

All the inking was done with Distress Inks. I used the following colors:

Blues

  • Tumbled Glass
  • Salty Ocean

Greens

  • Cracked Pistachio
  • Mowed Lawn
  • Lucky Clover

Browns

  • Antique Linen
  • Vintage Photo

I stamped the layers of the water and used the coordinating dies to cut that out. The water was accented with Glossy Accents and a shimmer pen to and some sparkle to it. I also wanted to make the water be able to swing open so that I could hide another little scene under the water. This idea came together beautifully, don’t you think?.

The star of the card though is the beach. This was created using the sand embossing powder from Hero Arts. This stuff is amazing! It gives both texture and a metallic glow to what you cover it with. There are several different colors and sizes of power in this mix that when melted, produce an effect that I have never seen before. It’s magical!

To follow along on the hop, check out my post on Instagram to see what all the other creators have shared to celebrate Anne’s 1 Year Anniversary. I hope you have fun and find lots of inspiration along the way!

Enjoy!

I found your blog from Hero Arts and loved the cards they spotlighted (I also loved the earrings you are wearing in your photo). I miss traveling and the beach too and your card feels just like a picture perfect getaway.
